FAST FACTS

Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance produced for you by your liver and important in many metabolic reactions. You need some cholesterol to work properly, but if you have too much in the blood, it can stick to the walls of your arteries and cause coronary artery disease (narrowing or blockage of the arteries)
